Two things. 1) this has been me all week (but not with report cards). 2) seeing as I went to law school and still have this problem, no. It wouldn’t have been easier. (Grass looks greener in your neighbors yard but you don’t always see the manure they have to spread to get it so green.) thanks for posting this. Guess now I have to go do the thing I’ve been not doing for a week now...

Love it! Applies equally well to all forms of report writing (and don't even get me started on TAXES 🙄)

I hate how true this is for so many things, and quite possibly everything important.

Why does it have to be so relatable and universally applicable and true?

I'm not blaming you, I'm asking why are we like this?

...

Okay, I *am* blaming you. I'm sorry, but we clearly need to blame someone, and you were the tall poppy that decided (with your usual wit and candour) to tackle this head-on, thus exposing the critical code error in the software of humanity.

WHY.

Why do we put things off and therefore veer off the road of Just Get It Done to take a long and meandering and exquisitely painful detour through the bowels of Procrastinatory Hell?

Why is this

Why does this happen and what can be done to stop this happening please

Whywhywhywhywhy

...

If you don't have an answer, I think we're all doomed.

(No pressure obvs.)

No, I hear you. I need to be part of the solution, not just someone pointing out another problem! I've read a bunch about it, but clearly we're all still procrastinating. I'll get to the bottom of this - nothing a Substack newsletter can't solve. I'm on it. Tomorrow. For sure.
